What exactly is the Red Shift Fitness Bootcamp Program?

Our program is held mainly outdoors (if there's inclement weather, we make some adjustments) and provides instruction on fitness and nutrition, with generous heapings of motivation and fun! RedShift is run by Audra Baker and her team of world-class instructors, Rob, Kathleen, Kelly, Mike, Shauna, and Elena. We are all certified fitness professional with years of experience helping over 343 Los Gatos, Gilroy and Willow Glen residents. The goal is to get you moving, elevate your heart rate and build lean muscle so your body burns twice as much fat. NOTE: Ladies, you finally don’t have to worry about getting bulky! Our dynamic and cutting-edge workout system leans you out without adding bulk. Your lean muscle will be more compact and smaller than fat. Also, it's much more shapely. Replacing fat with muscle will make you smaller, tighter and firmer your dress size will go down, not up!

First let me say that everything we do at Boot Camp is FUN. You will never be doing long, boring cardiovascular exercise or painful, hard, heavy lifting. Those days are gone.
The exercises we do include an emphasis on developing the core muscles of your body. This is called functional fitness. Your stomach down to your knees is your core. And for most people, that's where all the problems are. Now, keep in mind that when you work your core directly, every other part of your body gets indirect work. So if you have that jiggly skin on the backs of your arms, or you want your shoulders to look great for that strapless gown, or you need to slim down your ankles all of those body parts will benefit tremendously from the exercises we do at Red Shift Fitness Bootcamps in Los Gatos, Gilroy, Campbell and Willow Glen.
There will also be some short distance running (or speed walking…you don’t have to run if you don’t want to) from time to time of less than a mile, body weight exercises to increase your strength, circuit training, hiking, some Pilates movements, running obstacle courses and much more.
The bottom line is that you can do it all, and with our progressive programming you can start at a pace that's comfortable for you, and increase your intensity under our supervision and instruction, safely and measurably, quicker than you can imagine. That's how you get results!

What if I'm not in very good shape?
We use progressive programming at Red Shift Fitness Bootcamps at all of our locations: Los Gatos, Gilroy, Campbell, and Willow Glen. That means each person is assessed to determine his or her personal level of fitness. If you're not in very good shape, we'll start you slow (there will be others in the same boat, so you won't be left behind), but work you up to speed more quickly than you can probably imagine right now. The amazing thing about the human body is how it adapts quickly to proper stimulus. We will SAFELY challenge you never more so than you can handle. With years of experience working with women of all ages and fitness levels, we have this progressive programming down to a science.
Just know that you are welcome at Red Shift Fitness Bootcamps regardless of your level of fitness, and you will not feel out of place, even if you think of yourself now as being totally out of shape. You are not alone. Help and motivation are here from your instructors and the friendly, caring support you will receive from the other members. We work as a team, inspiring and being inspired, and everybody wins!

How often will we meet for Boot Camp?
That’s one of our great values we have here at Red Shift Fitness Bootcamps. We offer training sessions 6 days a week early morning, mid morning, and evenings. You get to come to as many sessions as you would like or which ever fit best into your schedule…at any location! You have access to everything. So how often you come will depend on you. In order to see some results, you should shoot for no less than three times week, but four to five is optimal. Our training program is designed so that you could come everyday and never get the same workout twice.
Boot Camp starts and ends on time, will last for one full hour, and includes warm-up and cool-down.
How much does the Red Shift Fitness Bootcamp Program cost?
Real change occurs over time, so we encourage all of our members to stay on board for at least 3 months, and we reward you with an insanely low price if you commit to 6 or 12 months. Here’s how we roll:

How Will You Know What My Fitness Level Is?
When you become a member of our Red Shift Bootcamp training program, you will get a call from your instructor. He or She will go over any questions you have, and do a mini coaching session with you to determine your fitness level. They will then schedule a time to do an initial assessment. The initial assessment includes measurements, pictures, postural analysis, and goal setting.
About the pre-camp measurements: What we watch and measure improves! That's our motto here, and it will become yours, as well. It's vital that we ascertain a baseline of where you are today, so that we can document how far you come in the 4 weeks. Nothing is as motivating as seeing your body change before your eyes. But since change doesn’t occur overnight, you can quickly forget where you were and how far you've come. So we establish the baseline for you with measurements and pictures. All the measurements and pictures are held in strict confidence and will never be shared without your consent. Although, I will tell you that most of our members are very eager to show the world their accomplishment!
The whole point is to measure your improvement over time so you can feed off that achievement and keep going strong! It's not uncommon for members to see dramatic body fat reductions over just a few weeks.

Will the exercises I do at Boot Camp make me sore?
It's completely normal to feel some soreness for the first few days of camp. You are moving and using muscles in ways you probably have not for some time, maybe ever. We make sure to warm you up properly; cool you down right, and stretch, stretch, stretch. And that alleviates much of the soreness, but still, some soreness is normal. And frankly, the mild soreness lets you know you're doing great work!
What should I bring with me to Boot Camp?

Water!

An exercise mat-I recommend going to an outdoor/camping store and purchasing a mat that you would put under your sleeping bag. They are soft, durable and you won’t mind getting them dirty!

A towel (this could also work if you don’t have a mat)

Wear sunscreen (unless of course it’s o’dark hundred)

DON’T WEAR YOUR NICE CLOTHES TO BOOTCAMP! (Because that will inevitably be the day we end up in the dirt…)

Consider wearing “weight-lifters” gloves (the fingers are cut out). There are times when your hands will be on concrete or a park bench, and the gloves keep your hands comfy!

We are recommending that Campers buy their own jump rope. We will have them there for you to use, but many people prefer their own!

With the exception of the Vasona Park location, bring a set of dumbbells with you. If you are just starting out, go with 3-8 pounds. If you are seasoned, go with 8-15 pounds.
What should I wear to Bootcamp?
It’s a good idea to dress in a layered fashion. You will get very warm as we begin the workout, so wear clothes that properly wick your sweat. Clothing made with Coolmax, I’ve found, works best. I advise against wearing cotton clothing because it doesn’t wick your sweat, tends to get heavy when wet and makes you cold once you begin to cool down. Other recommended items for the fall and winter months (when it may start cooling off a little) are:

A quick word on working out in the “cold”: We are blessed to live where we live. It never gets dramatically cold here, but none the less, working out in the cold has never been my favorite…until now! As long as you layer your clothes appropriately, and wear gloves, you will be amazed at how fast your body heats up and how great it feels to be outdoors exercising. If you’ve never tried it, give it a go and see for yourself. It’s truly an amazing experience.
I have my old sneakers from high school, will that be good enough to wear?
If that just described your shoe situation, please reconsider! You will want a new-ish running shoe with the soles intact. While it’s not a “running” bootcamp, you will be moving your booty from one spot to the next…so make sure those shoes will do the job!
Besides comfortable clothing you can exercise in (layering is advised as it can warm up quickly in the morning from Spring through early Fall, and stay cool at the other times of year), the most important thing for you to bring is a positive, can-do attitude and the willingness and desire to have fun!
The social element of Boot Camp is a vital part of your success. The camaraderie and support is tremendous. Everyone works together as a team, inspiring and being inspired.
What sort of results can I expect to achieve at Red Shift Boot Camp?
Besides the body transformation you'll experience, the biggest achievement is the sense of satisfaction and accomplishment you get from taking care of your health. If you've never experienced it, you are in for a real treat, because nothing can make your life more full, rich, balanced and positive than exercise. If there is such a thing as a panacea, something that cures everything, it's fitness.
The body transformation will be a wonderful achievement, and you can expect to see your body become toned, tighter and considerably firmer. Your energy levels will soar. Stress will be totally controlled, and in some cases, even disappear. What if I can only make it to Bootcamp a few days a week?
The bottom line is that the more days you exercise with us at Camp, the faster the results come. If you’re concerned about scheduling conflicts with other commitments, I can understand. That’s why we’ve added so many times and locations to make it as easy as possible for you to make it work! The reason the price is already so low, is just in case there are a few weeks that you could only make it a few times that week, you are still paying well below any other program out there, or any other Bootcamp for that matter. Our mission is to give you a ton of value and deliver insane service while keeping the price point lower than any other program out there…even if you can only make it to a few sessions this week.
Do you have a refund policy?
Yes, here are the details:

If you get sick and are unable to get to Bootcamp for a period of two weeks or more, we will freeze your account so that you won’t get charged that month. Charges will resume the following month.

If you know you will be gone for a month (on vacation, etc), we can freeze your account for that month and resume charges the next month. *You absolutely must give us at least 14 days notice and it must be in writing to billing@redshiftfitness.com.

If you need to cancel your contract, we need at least 14 days written notice to billing@redshiftfitness.com. Once the contract is canceled, all the months you attended prior to cancelation revert into the one-month price of $247, of which the difference will be due immediately.

If we are notified of your inability to attend after your session begins, we can give you a credit towards another boot camp at a later date.

How quickly can I expect to see results in the mirror?
